God is not a scientific problem, and scientific methods are not capable of solving it...the problem of God is not related to phenomena within nature but to nature itself; not only to concepts within thinking but to thinking itself. It is a problem that refers to what surpasses nature, to what lies beyond all things and all concepts.
One of my teachers proclaims himself a non-theist. He is not an atheist. He believes in God just not the way scripture anthropomorphizes God. I don't think Torah tries to convey what God is and does. The Torah tells us stories about core values and ethics and how living them is almost never tidy.
